Story of the 55 Sunroof
It all started at the place I worked at about two years ago, spring 2006. Sitting in the lunch-room speaking about my interest, a colleague comes in the room, overhearing us talking about old Volkswagens. He turns towards me and says; "My uncle has one of those with the sunroof and the turnsignals" waving his arms to illustrate the semaphores and open roof. My first impression was that this did not sound quite like the rusty 70's bug it so often turns out to be, so I got the uncles phone-number and a few weeks later I made the first call. And surely he did say a 55 sunroof sat in his barn since the last 30 years or so.
This guy later turned out to be around 75 years old, and he did not have a lot of time for these old things, so he took my number and told me he'd get back. But I didn't hear from him, so I called back every three months or so, just checking in and telling him I'm still interested. He seemed surprised anyone wanted it and kept saying when I asked if he had a price in mind that the important thing is if it's something you can use. Sure, I thought, I'll use it allright!
This kept on going until just about a month ago, when finally I was welcome to go have a look at the car and we would take it from there.
Nope, to tight to go that way, have to go through the other door.
Cars here to? Have to squeeze by the old Volvo 444 and SMV-caravan (very old)..
then under the 1906 sailing-yacht and past the 50's mercedes...
After seing it there was quite a long discussion about the deal but in the end it all turned out great, and I could pick up the car just about a week later. Yippiee!!

One boat gone, the little car is ready to head out to the roads again.
