I moved out to live in the garage for a few days. It did the trick - car finished and running beautifully!

Time for it's tech.-inspection June 3rd. Better get going!! Ordering a gasket-kit for the engine today, sorted out some NOS diagonal 5.60-wheels.

Some improvements have taken place. Polishing is an important step, and using 1000 grit paper to remove some old primer applied by the previous owner..

Had to try and start it so replaced the fuel-hoses, new 6V battery, checked the engine oil added some fuel - nothing.. No spark so I switched out the distributor for a magneto and voila!

Took apart the since long pulled out original engine. There you see why...

In the garage! Crowded with two bugs in there but really didn't want the 55 out in the cold! And just look at that factory-fresh black floorpan.
Not too shabby being in a car stored away for 30 years in a barn.

Original engine as we found it in a shed next to the barn where the car was stored. Great bonus!!

Gave it a good wash. Now it looks a bit more presentable.

Brought it home. Plans for this car is to simply make it driveable.
